Today I used MO626 to buy K1000 airtime(TNM) but I haven't received it.

I only received a message from 626 saying they deducted K1000 from my account but the airtime is no where to be seen. What could be the reason? should I be worried?

Help, I bought airtime using MO626, my account was debited but I haven't received the airtime

I was in your shoes too. I bought K15,500 worthy of airtime using MO626 but I didn't receive it. Adding salt to the wound was the message saying they deducted 15,500 from my account. It drove me crazy, I couldn't process the thought of losing such huge amount of money like that. So here is what I did to resolve the problem

I called National Bank customer care by dialing 626. The agent told me that they reverse all failed transactions within 48 hours(2 days). I bought the airtime on Friday, so I waited for 2 days and I checked on Monday if the money was refunded but it wasn't.

I panicked, I called customer care again but the response didn't satisfy me. So I went to the National Bank branch and I explained the situation at the inquiry section. The agent at the bank told me to wait for 2 business days, that is from Monday to Saturday. Since my issue occurred on Friday, I was in bad luck since Saturday has short working hours and no one works on Sunday.

So I waited for another 2 days but I didn't receive my airtime again. I contacted the agent at the bank(he gave me his phone number in case the reversal wasn't successful so that I could contact him). I explained that the reversal wan't successful even after waiting for 2 business days. He told he would email the guys who do the reversals and after a day, my money was refunded.

Here are the things I learned:

  • They really do reverse failed transactions within 2 business days. I had bad luck that's all but most of the times, they will refund the money. I have had a couple of failed transactions and they refunded them all automatically.

  • Be cautious when buying a lot of airtime. Before I buy huge amount of airtime, I buy a small amount first like K50. If it's successful, there is a 99% chance the transaction will be successful. I use this method each and every time and it's been working fine for me. It's time consuming yes but at least it's better than waiting 48 hours for your money to be refunded when the transaction fails.

  • If you buy a small amount of airtime i.e K50 and you don't receive it, Leave it, don't try to force to matters by buying again. It could mean there is a problem, so wait and try again at a later time.

That being said, I haven't had this problem this year yet. But if you do, I hope you can learn something from my experience. 99% they will reverse the transactions and if they don't, visit the bank. It's actually better if you visit the bank after waiting 2 days because if you don't, they will tell you to wait for 48 hours before they can take over. At least that was my experience.

Chill, National Bank Mo626 reverses all failed transactions within 2 days(working days). They will return the money don't worry.

They will reverse your transactions within 2 days. In the meantime, just borrow airtime from TNM, you will refund it to when mo626 refunds money back into your account. I do it all the time.

On 30th August, 2019, I purchased using no626 tnm units and electricity unit, the money was deducted to my account but to date I didn't receive the message and the airtime and electricity token is no where to be seen.

I requested for refund of the above on 3rd September 2019 but no where to be seen the refund. What should I do next

Should I still trust the service since I slept without units and electricity at home.

Avoid sharing your account .... it can be prone to fraudsters... if you want to deal with the bank call them
